Details: Do you have unwanted items that need to be taken to the landfill or hauled away?  Beginning on Monday, April 21 st through Friday, May 2nd, the City of Kimball will pick up and haul away your unwanted items for free. Items need to be outside in the alley or by the curb for pickup.  This includes appliances, tree branches, metal, wooden pallets and furniture. No hazardous waste and, no tires, please. This service is limited to City residents only.

135th Annual Fireman's Ball
Name of Event: 135th Annual Fireman's Ball

Details: The Sidney Volunteer Fire Department will be celebrating its 135th year by holding the annual Fireman's Ball!  Playing a variety of music, this year's band will be "Victory Underground" from Ogallala, NE. Join us on Friday, April 18, 2014 in the 4-h building at the fairgrounds. The fun will begin at 8:00 p.m. and end at 12:00 a.m. A minimum donation of $5.00 would be appreciated at the entrance. Free soda and ice tea will be provided for designated drivers and for those who prefer nonalcoholic beverages.  There will be no shuttle service this year. If a ride home is needed, please contact a local fireman and they will help make arrangements for a safe ride home.

Benefit Concert for the Eads Family

Details: There will be a Benefit concert for the Eads family Saturday, April 19th at 2:00 pm at the Sidney Fine Arts Center, 1000 11th Ave. (Corner of 11th & Jackson St). Contemporary Christian bands Afterlife and Voice In The Wilderness will perform. This concert is absolutely free and family friendly so bring everyone along and enjoy an afternoon of uplifting music and fun. There will be a free will donation with all proceeds going to assist the Eads family with medical and travel expenses related to the inoperable brain tumor in 2 year old Kyra.  Please come support this family and help take care of one of our own panhandle families in need.  See ya there!!!

Details: The 2014 Health Fair is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 7:00 am-12:00 pm.  Blood Draws are April 22-23-24 from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.  In preparation to have your blood drawn at a 9Health Fair, be sure to drink plenty of water, do not eat in the 12 hours before your visit (unless you are diabetic), and continue taking prescribed medication. Diabetics are advised to consult their healthcare provider before fasting.

Potter Duckpin Bowling Alley

Details: You can rent the alley at $50 for a 4 hour period.  Morning, afternoon, or evening timeslots.  There is even black light bowling available.
      "Duckpin bowling was invented in 1900 in Baltimore, MD. The name comes from the resemblance of the wildly-flying little pins to a flock of flying ducks”
      This is a project that has been going on for many years and has come together through the help of many volunteers, and organizations both civil and school . All the funds raised from renting the space are used in the restoration and maintenance of the bowling alley, bathrooms, and adjoining party room. It is owned by the Potter Historical Foundation.
