Details: Cheyenne County Organizations and Individuals are encouraged to participate in the Christmas Wreath Contest! Youth and adults divisions. Wreaths need to be brought to the Chamber office at 740 Illinois street by 4:00 p.m. on November 22ND. Wreaths will be displayed in windows downtown Sidney through December 22. Wreaths will be judged on originality, creativity, construction/durability and overall appearance. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Adults and Youth 12th grade or younger. Individuals or Organizations. Traditional (1ST Prize $25, 2ND Prize $15, 3RD $10) / Unique (1ST Prize $25, 2ND Prize $15, -3RD $10) / Whimsical (1ST Prize $25, 2ND Prize $15, 3RD $10). (Run time: 92 minutes) This special viewing of The Christmas Box movie coincides with the December 6th Annual Day of Remembrance, honored each year at all of the Christmas Box Angels throughout the world, in memory of loved ones lost too soon. Admission is FREE, with a donation of 2 canned goods. Donations of Christmas hams and turkeys will also be graciously accepted for our local Salvation Army for distribution to local families. The Fox Theatre seats 200, so please plan to arrive early. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please plan to join us with your family at 2:00 P.M. to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season!

Details: The 2014 Cheyenne County campaign is under way. Toy distribution will be held Saturday, December 13 starting at 8:00 a.m. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. We are starting to put collection boxes at several locations around the county. We are in need of toys for newborn to 16 years old for both girls and boys. So far collection boxes are located in Sidney at Accents Home and Yard Décor, Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce, Wal-Mart, First United Methodist Church and Sidney Regional Medical Center, more will be coming; In Dalton at Dalton Farmers Market. Potter Duckpin Bowling Alley

Details: You can rent the alley at $50 for a 4 hour period.  Morning, afternoon, or evening timeslots.  There is even black light bowling available.
      "Duckpin bowling was invented in 1900 in Baltimore, MD. The name comes from the resemblance of the wildly-flying little pins to a flock of flying ducks”
      This is a project that has been going on for many years and has come together through the help of many volunteers, and organizations both civil and school . All the funds raised from renting the space are used in the restoration and maintenance of the bowling alley, bathrooms, and adjoining party room. It is owned by the Potter Historical Foundation.
