Over 17 tons of supplies sent from Sidney to Texas for Harvey relief

SIDNEY, Neb. A large amount of goods was sent from Sidney to Texas to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Thanks to the Sidney VFW Post #610, The American Legion, The DAV Post #40, Adams Industries, and the Cheyenne County area community, 35,000 lbs of goods were transported to Texas. Adams Industries shipped the supplies in a 48-foot semi trailer. Items donated from the community such as canned food, bottled water, cleaning supplies, and hygiene supplies were collected September 5-7 at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds and loaded into the truck by volunteers.

The Sidney VFW said on their Facebook page Friday, “We called and Cheyenne County Nebraska answered! God bless Cheyenne County and God bless Texas!”
